This is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Planning Team to develop and maintain the long-term project plans required to take our Trawsfynydd and Wylfa site from its current state of decommissioning to the final end state. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in project planning, ideally in Primavera P6.
NRS currently has a complex portfolio of projects across 11 decommissioning Sites with more Sites due to be added to the portfolio in the near future.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Be based at Trawsfynydd or Wylfa Site. Some virtual working is available.
2. Integrate schedule and cost information from a number of sources (e.g. Project schedules, Trends, Sites, Programme & Project Teams) to ensure that the long-term decommissioning baseline plan – known within NRS as the Management Summary Schedule or MSS - supports the Site management team to deliver the end state.
3. Provide advice to management on the impact on the MSS of current project performance and potential changes.
4. Identify and assess actions to mitigate delays, incorporate potential opportunities and to optimise the Site’s Critical Paths.
5. Produce and analyse cost-loaded ‘what-if’ high-level plans in accordance with a variety of specified portfolio-wide funding, prioritisation and strategic scenarios.
6. Assist in the Quantitative Risk Analysis of high-level Threats and Opportunities to determine date- and cost-based range forecasts.
7. Report functionally to the Strategic Cost Manager and, working closely with the Site Management, Programme and Project teams, provide a regional planning service.
Qualifications & Experience
1. NQF level 5 or equivalent significant, demonstrable planning experience (Essential).
2. Membership of a relevant professional body (Desirable).
3. Demonstrable experience within a relevant project planning environment, ideally in Primavera P6 (Essential).
4. Understanding of cost and risk management principles (Desirable).
5. Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders from project teams to management teams (Essential).
6. Significant demonstrable experience of constructing, statusing and reading logic driven, resource and cost loaded project schedules (Essential).
