A well-respected Firm of Accountants with an office in Liverpool is looking for a Personal Tax Assistant to join their friendly team, within fabulous new offices, offering a salary of £25000 - £30000 depending upon experience.
This Firm prides itself on its people first approach and this role is perfect for someone with early tax experience looking to learn, grow and contribute.
As a Personal Tax Assistant, you will work as part of a friendly, collaborative tax team supporting a portfolio of clients ranging from individuals and sole traders to high net worth clients.
Key Responsibilities of the Personal Tax Assistant:
* Preparing and submitting Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, landlords, directors, and sole traders.
* Supporting the preparation of P11Ds, Capital Gains Tax computations, and rental income schedules.
* Assisting senior tax staff with the management of client communications and deadlines.
* Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and handling basic tax enquiries.
* Maintaining accurate records, files, and working papers.
* Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and how it impacts clients.
* Supporting ad hoc tax planning projects and personal tax advisory work as your experience grows.
To be successful as the Personal Tax Assistant:
* A genuine interest in a career in personal tax and experience preparing basic tax returns
* At least 12–18 months’ experience in an accountancy firm or tax-specific role (placement year, internship, or similar will be considered)
* Strong numeracy and communication skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
