We are seeking to recruit an Outpatient Appointments Administrator who has a passion for high quality customer care.
You will be working as a member of our Bookings Team who are based at County Hall.
This role at County Hall will be dealing with tasks such as taking high volumes of patient telephone calls, booking appointments, and supporting the wider outpatient team. You will be dealing with queries from consultants and other Trust staff and will use your initiative to know when help from a more senior staff member is required. Report any complaints/comments or requests to the Outpatient Appointments Supervisor immediately. Have the knowledge and knowhow of when to refer to PALS.
The post requires flexibility and the ability to provide a wide range of administrative and typist duties as the services develop. You will also be required to participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.

Main duties of the job
As an Outpatient Appointments Administrator you will receive training and guidance in order to provide support to the Outpatient Admin department at County Hall.
You'll be responsible for the booking and monitoring of outpatient appointments in a call centre setting. You will also assist with managing patient referrals in line with key performance indicators, and providing quality customer service to our patients.
You will be working within set work patterns, prioritising your own work efficiently and effectively to ensure all administrative duties are met; highlighting any issues to the outpatient appointment supervisor. You will also be dealing with queries from consultants and other Trust staff and will use your initiative to know when help from a more senior staff member is required.

5. As a minimum GSCEs in English Language and Maths or functional skills

6. Experience of dealing with patients/customers

8. Proven experience of working well as part of a team

9. Experience of working in a healthcare setting/previous experience of NHS administration processes
10. Minimum 1 year office experience within last 5 years
11. Experience of high volume contacts with patients/customers using the telephone
