Day-to-day of the role:
* Advise on contentious and non-contentious planning matters, including planning appeals and compulsory purchase.
* Collaborate closely with partners within the Planning Team and across the firm.
* Handle negotiations of planning agreements, provide advice on highways and compulsory purchase, and manage planning appeals.
* Guide on listed building and conservation areas, contaminated land, and defend town green applications.
* Work with diverse clients including local authorities, developers, and NHS Trusts on development and regeneration projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in planning law, with experience across public and private sectors.
* Strong in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
* Excellent communication and professional client interaction skills.
* Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
* Skilled in drafting and legal analysis.
* Collaborative, with effective organizational skills.
* Practical and commercial approach to legal issues.
