We have a FANTASTIC opportunity for a Children's Support Worker to join an AMAZING residential children's home in Crediton. You'll be supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
We are looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, RESILIENT, and MOTIVATED individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
This position is open to males ONLY under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1. It is also subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
Job Title: Children's Support Worker (MALES ONLY)
Salary: £31,840 - £34,240 (Inclusive of sleeps)
Location: Crediton (EX17)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week plus 2 sleeps
Shift pattern: (9am - 10pm - sleep - 7:30am - 9am)
Due to the nature of the job we will only accept candidates who hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities:
1. To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
2. To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
3. To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
4. Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
5. Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
6. Maintain a safe environment for young people.
7. Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
8. Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
9. Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements:
1. Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
2. Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
3. You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
4. You must be over the age of 21.
5. You must be able to commute to Crediton.
