An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, with an interest in quality and improvement to join the team, supporting the implementation and monitoring of robust governance processes across the Radiology service.
Radiology is a large, multidisciplinary department providing high quality imaging services across a range of modalities, including x-ray, fluoroscopy, DEXA, CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and vascular imaging. Around 90% of patients will have some form of imaging during their care, and so efficient, safe and person-centred services are integral to many pathways. Our services operate across multiple sites, with 24/7 CT and x-ray services at York and Scarborough.
The post holder should be organised, willing to learn and have the ability to adapt to new demands. They will liaise closely with clinical and non-clinical staff in the wider multidisciplinary team to meet deadlines, so excellent communication skills are required with the ability to motivate, influence and negotiate. Good IT, presentation and report-writing skills are also essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to support an effective governance framework to ensure the delivery of safe and high quality care. This includes:
* Maintaining accurate records and robust evidence of quality and safety matters for inclusion in reports, information requests, investigations and inspection visits. This includes, but is not limited to, the Radiology risk register, clinical audit schedule and non-medical referrer reviews.
* Co-ordinating and providing monitoring of compliance with timescales for the investigation of incidents and Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) investigations.
* Participating in local clinical governance and other relevant meetings, keeping accurate records where required.
* Collating and monitoring the completion of action plans resulting from incidents, audits and inspections.
* Developing sound knowledge of the Q-Pulse system, with the view to creating user accounts, delivering training and maintaining an efficient system of document control.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Degree or equivalent experience within a governance, quality or safety environment
* Training or equivalent experience of governance issue
* European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Experience and Knowledge
* Experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Knowledge of complex medical terminology
* Understanding of role of CQC
* Experience of working in a client-driven / NHS environment.
* Knowledge of Q-Pulse or similar quality management system.
* Process / project management experience.
* Experience using DATIX or another adverse incident reporting system.
* Awareness of Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI).
* Awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
