Full time Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm - 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid
£32000 to £34000 per annum negotiable
On behalf of our Engineering Client we have a fantastic opportunity for a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR within production - hands on role - ENGINEERING/AIR CONDITIONING DUCTING - this is a MANAGEMENT level role.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate:
* Will have previous experience in Workshop/Engineering Supervision, ideally within fabrication of some form, welding would be an advantage.
* Excellent Team Building and Communication skills - string mana management experience.
* Will have the ability to work under pressure and remain flexible with their working hours to ensure targets are met.
* Be able to read and understand construction/manufacture drawings.
Manufacture of Items:
* Any instruction to place items into production must be accompanied by a detailed drawing and job reference number. No manufacture should take place without these, if in doubt seek further guidance from your Line Manager.
* Keep a record of incoming and outgoing jobs and report daily on progress.
* Accompanying paperwork is to be completed by the assembler at the time of construction and checked by the Supervisor upon completion.
* The relevant paperwork is to be completed by the Supervisor once all checks are complete.
Stock Control:
* It is imperative that all stock materials are monitored closely to ensure we capture any shortages of materials quickly.
* Report weekly (daily if required) on current stock levels and predicted usage based on production workload.
Quality Control:
* Outgoing delivery dates will be confirmed in advance by the Project Manager and will be accompanied by a site delivery address and contact number, along with any specific site requirements.
* All delivery dates should be recorded on a delivery schedule and any delays in production reported so alternative arrangements can be made.
* Collate all goods in the “goods holding area” and check for completion and quality, this includes all stores requests, bought in items and manufactured items.
* Delivery paperwork shall include the delivery note, marked up drawings highlighting what is on the transport and a copy of the signed checklist. A complete copy of all items sent to site must be held on record for future reference.
* Great care must be taken when loading transport to ensure materials do not sustain damage during transit.
Deliveries (Incoming):
* Deliveries to be checked and signed for upon receipt (Checked means quantity and description measured against the original order, any damage, suitability). Any issues with deliveries should be identified immediately and reported back to your Line Manager.
* Confirmation of any delivery received should be given to the addressee ASAP.
* All materials should be placed in the designated storage area once checks are complete.
Health & Safety:
* Keep a daily record of time attendance for the Workshop operatives.
* Ensure that everyone who enters the Workshop has completed the daily Fire Alarm Attendance Register.
* Check that all ongoing works are in line with current Risk and Method Statements.
* Check that all personnel are wearing the appropriate PPE for the given task.
* Check and challenge any individuals that show a disregard for Health & Safety and report frequent offenders.
* Ensure a good standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times and any waste materials are placed in the designated Skip for disposal. All waste materials should be removed promptly and a thorough clean carried out at the end of each working shift.
Staff Supervision:
* Carry out weekly toolbox talks.
* Mentor and train staff, show best practices and implement new process / procedures to increase productivity & quality.
* Monitor start and finish times of operatives (including break-times) and challenge if / when required.
* Monitor target times given for piece work and ensure they are met.
* Collate timesheets weekly, ensure they are filled in correctly with all job numbers, accurate times spent on jobs etc
