Job summary An exciting job opportunity has arisen within the Elective Orthopaedic Ward at the Alexandra Hospital (WAHT). We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, friendly and caring Band 5 registered nurse who has a passion for trauma and orthopaedics. Ward 16 is an Elective Orthopaedic Ward who primarily cater for patients undergoing joint replacement surgery. We have a well established friendly team who will support you in this new role. The role is suitable for both newly qualified or experience nurses, a induction plan will be formalised to meet your needs. You will need excellent communication skills to engage with patients and colleagues at all levels and will be encouraged to develop your skills, knowledge and leadership within the field of Orthopaedics. Main duties of the job Using your clinical experience and skills you will work with your team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care within the framework of team nursing. Acting with compassion, you will put patients at the centre of all you do. You will communicate effectively with patients and their carers regarding their care and educate patients where there is a need. You will communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.
