The King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is looking for an experienced General Practitioner to join a friendly and supportive team. Applicants must be registered with the United Kingdoms General Medical Council (or equivalent body) and have a minimum of five years experience working as General Practitioner. We are looking for a GP who has experience working in a lead role in a busy UK practice come to our Islands to push forward non-communicable disease management in our small population. The role offers GPs the opportunity to devote time and care to their patients in a non-rushed clinical environment, and to enhance good quality, evidence-based care. Our small population base means it is possible, for the right candidate, to drive forward good audit and governance practices throughout our primary care services. This post involves undertaking the full spectrum of GP work. This role has no on-call requirement, with standard working hours being Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. Main duties of the job The main duties for this role include working within the Primary Care Department of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Falkland Islands, to provide a full spectrum of GP services which would consist of 10 sessions per week (with no on-call requirement), with 3 of these sessions being dedicated administration time. The standard working hours being Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. This position requires an experienced GP, on a two to four-year contract, who is able to help drive improvements in our Primary Care Department, particularly with reference to systems, processes and outcomes relating to chronic disease management.
