Job Description
The key responsibilities for the Facilities Manager role are:
* Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, materials, and equipment.
* Conduct regular site inspections and report defects or hazards promptly.
* Support compliance tasks, including fire alarm testing, emergency light checks, and ladder inspections.
* Act as a keyholder, responsible for opening and closing the premises and responding to emergency call-outs.
* Maintain security measures and ensure a safe environment for staff, students, and visitors.
* Work closely with the Estates & Facilities Manager to support site maintenance and improvements.
* Assist with event setup and facility usage outside normal operating hours.
* Ensure the grounds and facilities are kept clean, organised, and functional.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Facilities Manager is someone with the following:
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage tasks independently.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle responsibilities efficiently.
* Experience in facilities maintenance, security, or a similar role is advantageous.
* A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to high standards.
* Ideally, experience working in an educational environment.
