Head of Development - Hybrid/Bristol - .Net, C#, Sitecore, Azure, TypeScript, React - £105,000
The Role
As a Head of Development, you will report into the Technical Director and work effectively across the agency with other department heads and Senior stakeholders to help ensure that operations are efficient, as well as levels of quality both creative and innovate use of technologies within the engineering department and agency.
Within this role, you will ooze passion with regards to all things technology and nurturing development teams. You will have a logical and pragmatic mindset, outstanding communication skills and strong commercial and industry knowledge.
It will be crucial to be self-driven, encourage and promote a collaborative environment, demonstrate a both flexible and methodological approach, provide direction and support and guidance to the team - you will have 4 direct reports and 7-9 total team.
You will have a broad range of technologies including both experience and platforms, services and technologies. You will have a hands on mindset, and be able to get stuck in and assist team members etc. where needed.

Responsibilities of the role:
* Support and build a high performing and positive engineering team
* Encourage the team through effective coaching to think creatively about how they approach problems
* Optimise development process to maximise both quality and efficiency
* Line manage a couple of Senior members of the engineering team, including development plans, 121's, appraisals and objective setting
* Support and contribute to the New Business and Marketing department with pitches and be comfortable with presenting
* Broad knowledge of software engineering practices and processes
* Build and maintain relationships with clients including the main point of contact
* Contribute towards helping clients achieve their ambitions through providing technical consultancy/strategies
* Help shape the future technical strategy/business offerings and company direction with the Technical Director
