This is a challenging yet fulfilling role where your expertise will contribute to improving the lives of children and young people in Caerphilly. Key Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload: Undertake assessments and interventions for children in need, those at risk of harm, and looked after children. Safeguarding children: Identify risks, implement safety plans, and carry out statutory safeguarding responsibilities in line with legislation and best practice. Court work: Prepare reports and provide evidence in family court proceedings as required. Multi-agency working: Collaborate effectively with schools, health services, legal professionals, and other agencies to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support. Family support: Build relationships with children and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions and access the services they need. Promote positive outcomes: Ensure all interventions focus on the welfare of the child and align with the principles of child-centred practice. What We're Looking For Qualified Social Worker: Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification (e.g., BA/MA Social Work, DipSW). Registered with Social Care Wales (or eligible for registration). Experience in children's services: Proven experience working with children and families in a safeguarding, child protection, or looked after children setting.
