Nurture Education is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work in a school in North West London, supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and helping them reach their full potential.
Role Overview
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and pastoral staff to provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils who may have behavioural, social, or emotional difficulties. You will help create a positive and structured learning environment, implementing strategies to improve engagement, confidence, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build strong relationships with students, acting as a positive role model.
2. Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions, helping them develop resilience and coping strategies.
3. Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour plans and interventions.
4. Provide one-to-one mentoring and small group support to help students stay engaged in their learning.
5. Encourage positive behaviour and self-confidence through tailored support.
6. Assist in de-escalating challenging situations and promoting a calm, inclusive environment.
7. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
What We’re Looking For
1. Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, or mentoring setting.
2. Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
3. Understanding of behaviour management techniques and a patient, supportive approach.
4. Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
5. Knowledge of mental health, SEN, or safeguarding (desirable but not essential).
6. A reliable and proactive team player who can work independently when needed.

Location: North West London
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Requirements: Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to apply)
