Title: Bartender
Location: Time Out Market, Boston
Reporting to: Assistant General Manager
About the role
We love what we do – and it shows! Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.
Our Market Bartenders provide outstanding guest service and product to ensure that each of our guests enjoy a memorable experience with each visit.
1. Prepare guest checks through POS terminal functions and process guest payments by cash, credit card, comps and all other tender types
2. Uphold procedures for Bartender banks
3. Responsible for proper check–out procedures
4. Responsible to ensure accurate accounting of all bar monies
5. Appear in uniform for all shifts at the scheduled time
6. Ensure proper rotation of all liquor, beer, wine and consumable items
7. Keep bar top clean and free of dirty glasses, dirty ashtrays, trash, etc. throughout shift. Clean all spills and waste immediately and place all trash in proper receptacles
8. Proper setup and maintenance of event and or banquet function spaces
9. Inform management of any complaint, comments or incident
10. Ability to create and maintain a guest and staff service rapport
11. Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner
12. Anticipate guest needs
13. Provide information to Guests regarding our venues, menus and pricing
14. Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures
15. Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout shift
16. Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations
17. Respond to Guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude
18. Recognize and acknowledge when guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated
19. Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and promptly bring to a Manager’s attention
20. Refuse further service of alcohol to overly intoxicated Guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner
21. Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor laws.
22. Maintain company safety and sanitation standards
23. Ensure nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
24. Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a Manager immediately
25. Assist all other team members as needed
26. Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned
Skills & Experience

General Requirements:
1. 21+ years of age
2. Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards
3. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Education Requirements:
1. High School Diploma preferred
Working Knowledge Requirements:
1. Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in hospitality working in a high-volume bar
2. POS systems
3. Hospitality, Restaurant, Nightclub, Bar, and Lounge Operations
4. Beer, wine, spirits, and cigar brands
5. Opening and closing duties
6. Proper lifting techniques
7. Guest relations
8. Sanitation and safety
9. Safe alcohol service
10. Beverage presentation
11. High volume operations
