We are currently recruiting a Depot Support & Stores Operative to join our team at the London West depot. As Depot Support & Stores Operative you will ensure the yard operations are efficient and carried out in a timely manner and the maintaining the part stores you will ensure parts held in stock are visible in the ERP system, low stock levels are reported to the depot network as required In return you will receive a Competitive Salary, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Life Assurance, Westfield Health Cash Plan, Auto enrolment Pension Scheme & Lifestyle Benefits – discounts on selected high street stores Responsibilities include: • Support the Location/Workshop Service Manager (LSM/WSM) and Senior Service Engineer (SSE) in running maintenance operations effectively. • Work with drivers to ensure all trucks are loaded safely and efficiently. • Maintain high levels of personal appearance, ensuring uniform and PPE are used correctly. • Pick and make available machines for drivers as notified by the Transport Planning team. • Ensure all vehicles and drivers have loads ready to maximize driving hours and vehicle efficiency. • Ensure diesel machines have tanks filled, and chargeable invoicing information is completed daily. • Ensure electric machines are charged before and after inspection. • Assist with depot asset management and improve/organize the engineers’ store to ensure efficient use of parts in line with the LSM’s guidance. • Ensure all stock is labeled accurately and matches ERP quantities during stock takes. • Update the ERP system with all parts moves, receiving locations are recorded accurately, and parts are allocated to the correct machines. • Monitor parts consumption to ensure ordered parts are used efficiently, reducing stockpiling at locations. • Maintain a clean and tidy parts stores area. • Generate purchase orders for selected third-party suppliers and resolve any purchase order queries. • Sort items received from locations, ensuring they are good-receipted into stores stock, labeled, and stored correctly. The ideal candidate will have/be: • Licenses: IPAF Operator Licence (preferable; if not held, it will be provided upon employment). • Experience in stock management and coordination. • Ability to communicate effectively using company systems (e.g., Microsoft applications and email). • A strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment for all. • Utilize technical knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills to gain agreement and respect from others.
