As a Principal Planning Officer, you will have the opportunity to play a central role in supporting the vision of East Lindsey District Council and the Partnership, contributing directly to economic growth, housing delivery, and regeneration schemes. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of planning services. You will work closely with the Deputy Development Manager and Development Management Lead to deliver quality outcomes and ensure a positive, collaborative approach across the Planning team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a diverse range of cases, including major developments, contributing to the delivery of key projects that support economic growth, regeneration and housing delivery.
- Provide high-level planning advice to internal and external stakeholders, developers, members and residents.
-Represent the Service at committee, appeals, hearings and inquiries as required
- Work collaboratively at all levels to provide leadership and mentor and support junior staff within the team, providing guidance and professional development
Previous experience of working in a planning environment, and membership to (or eligibility for) the RTPI is required for the role, alongside a strong track record in managing complex planning applications and knowledge of planning law, legislation and policy.
This position is a shared role within the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) and forms part of the S113 agreement between the participating partnership Councils in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement 1st October 2021.
