Job overview
The post holder will have responsibility for developing and supporting this specialty service to provide equitable care to patients presenting with Lymphoma Cancer. This includes ensuring a smooth transition of care from initial referral through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship stage.
The post holder will liaise with services within Wales and with other key partners, providing expert nursing advice and support to patients and their families at all stages of disease.
Main duties of the job
* To deliver high quality and efficient outpatient care for lymphoma patients.
* To assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care using a holistic and individualized approach.
* To provide continued support to patients throughout their journey through the outpatient setting.
* To work with the Lead CNS and consultant team to develop the lymphoma service.
* To provide patients with information, education, and psychological support throughout their disease and treatment.
* The post holder will be required to work clinically.
* To maintain up-to-date nursing records and care plans.
* Undertaking medicine management for lymphoma patients.
* To liaise with community palliative care teams and other community-based agencies.
* Network locally and nationally to ensure best practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Current NMC Registration
* Evidence of CPD
* Educated to Degree level
* Independent prescriber or willing to work towards
* Non-medical referrer or willing to work towards
Experience
* Relevant post-registration experience in the same specialty.
* Previous experience of working in a variety of settings.
Skills
* Evidence of up-to-date knowledge and expertise in relevant specialty.
* Teaching and assessing skills.
Specialist Knowledge
* Competent in administration of parental chemotherapy.
* Experience in cannulation and venepuncture.
* Experience of caring for acute and terminally ill patients.
Personal Qualities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team (MDT).
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
* Able to work flexibly to meet needs of client group.
* Good counselling skills.
