Are you an experienced midwife passionate about diabetes care in pregnancy? Join the Midwifery Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and lead our Outpatient Services Midwifery team in shaping the future of care for women and their babies.
As the Diabetes Midwifery Team Leader, you will play a key role in developing and leading our specialist service across Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. You will drive evidence-based practices that align with national standards and the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle (v5), ensuring high-quality, personalised care for women with diabetes during pregnancy. By working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure safe, innovative care pathways for all patients.
To be eligible for this role, you will have UK NMC Registration and demonstrate experience in antenatal services, particularly managing care for women with pre-existing and gestational diabetes, as well as strong leadership and team management skills to inspire, mentor, and guide a specialist team.

As the Diabetes Midwifery Team Leader, your key responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and lead care delivery for women with diabetes, ensuring personalised, safe care plans throughout pregnancy.
• Manage the diabetes team, delivering services aligned with national, regional, and local priorities.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support positive pregnancy outcomes.
• Lead face-to-face clinics, manage your caseload, and educate both staff and patients on diabetes care.
• Navigate care pathways, provide education on pregnancy, labour, and birth, and present at MDT meetings.
• Use technology to enhance both virtual and in-person care settings.
• Lead service audits and maintain the diabetes database, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
