What we are looking for:
The role of Group Financial Reporting & Treasury Accountant is pivotal in driving high standards and ensuring a consistent and compliant accounting, tax and treasury environment across the Group. This role will support regulatory compliance and consistent accounting practices and help shape the wider business processes to be scalable and efficient. A key deliverable for this role is the provision of timely and accurate financial information. You will work closely with the global finance function and key stakeholders at all levels of the business to ensure best practices are implemented.
You will bring relevant and credible analysis and interpretation to add value to the business, and take pride in making sure actions and tasks are completed to deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You will have strong communication skills, and excellent presentation of your work will ensure clarity in a fast-paced and complex environment. You will be part of a wider team supporting the implementation of internal controls and governance structures. You will support and train through a thorough understanding of the processes and share your knowledge of financial best practices across the finance team and non-financial managers.
In addition, you will be responsible for tax planning and reporting, daily cash tracking, monthly global cashflow consolidation reporting. You will be curious about what we do, how we do it, and how we can make it better for all stakeholders. This role will involve close collaboration with the Finance team, the Shared Services Transactions team, and key stakeholders across the organisation, including sales, delivery and client support functions, to ensure efficient treasury operations and financial reporting.
What you will do:
Working closely with the Group Finance Director and the wider finance team, you will:
* Manage the preparation and delivery of the group consolidated and subsidiary statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
* Ensure regulatory compliance and provide technical guidance and recommendations for accounting treatment and areas judgements.
* Manage the external audit process and the relationships with the audit team and all internal stakeholders, ensuring adherence to deadlines and successful delivery.
* Work with the Global finance team to review, standardise and implement new improved processes and monitor the accounting control environment in line with Group requirements.
* Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and with appropriate supporting information each month.
* Manage Intercompany reconciliations process.
* Manage and report on Group capital structures (Preference shares, Loan Notes, Term debt), policies, procedures, processes and internal controls.
* Ensure a compliant and well-planned tax environment e.g. Corporation tax, R&D, Transfer Pricing, Thin Cap/CIR, Deferred Tax asset, VAT, employment taxes.
* Manage the preparation and delivery of tax computations across the Group.
* Own the Group cash reporting process, including short and medium term global liquidity models, and support improvements in working capital management.
* Collaborate with regional Financial Controllers and the Shared Services Transactions team to manage the daily cash tracker and weekly supplier payment budgets.
* Manage relationships and act as the key contact for banking, audit and tax queries.
* Manage requirements for the annual insurance reviews.
* Ad-hoc tasks and support required by the GFD, as required.
Requirements
What you will need:
* ACA qualified accountant with a top 10 firm, with at least 5 years post qualification experience, and at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role.
* Strong technical experience in financial accounting, tax and treasury.
* Proven experience within a global, multicurrency environment, with a deep understanding of cash management, currency management, cashflow forecasting, and supplier payment processes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
* Experience working with shared services teams and collaborating across regions.
* Experience in developing, implementing and reviewing financial controls and processes.
* Highly organised with a strong work ethic and results-orientated, delivery focused approach.
* Ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment, with ambiguity and tight deadlines.
* A continuous improvement mindset with drive and commitment to produce the highest quality work and an aptitude for change management.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership over tasks and projects.
* Strong interpersonal and presentational skills with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the business.
* Advanced Microsoft skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Experience with financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks and Xero as well as ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or NetSuite) is preferred.
* Experience of working in a private equity or venture capital backed business would be an advantage.
