We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and demonstrate exceptional skills in food preparation and production.
The successful applicant must be able to keep a calm head during what can be a busy kitchen service. Previous kitchen experience is necessary and opportunities to grow within the role are available.
Responsibilities
* Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production
* Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards
* Accept and check deliveries
* Promote a positive, helpful service to guests, colleagues, and other departments at all times
* Ensure that all equipment and utensils are in good working order at all times, and report maintenance issues to the head chef
* Recognize the importance of allergies and follow all procedures and policies for all current food being served
* Ensure all food prepared, cooked, and served at the Oxwich Bay Hotel is to the highest standard and understand the importance of presentation
* Follow Food Safety & HACCP procedures and policies
* Operate at the required level of cleanliness in line with EHO regulations
* Understand & complete the relevant paperwork in the safe catering pack
* Support the Hotel Head Chef with stock awareness and operate daily with a Zero Waste policy
Requirements
* 2+ years of culinary or kitchen experience
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
* Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary arts
* Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety standards
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality output
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
