Infrastructure Network Engineer
Based in Warrington (On-site)
£50,000 - £55,000 per annum
Must be eligible for SC and DV clearance.
Role Overview:
The role requires wide experience in all areas of industry hardware products including CISCO, DELL, and APC. A working knowledge of Microsoft and VMware is also essential to implement various customer solutions.
Critical Skills Required:
1. Experience of building virtualised datacentres from a baseline assured solution and supporting documentation.
2. Experience in Service / Incident Management (BMC Remedy).
3. Network background with experience of Switch/Router/Firewall configuration. CCNA/CCNP desired.
4. Technical capability in Windows Server & Administration Tools (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Certs, PKI), Windows 10.
5. Experience in Microsoft technologies: SQL, Exchange, Skype, SharePoint, WSUS.
6. Experience in VMware technologies, including: ESX & vCenter, NSX, Horizon (VDI), App Volumes.
7. Experience in following technologies: KeePass, SolarWinds, Veeam, Trend.
8. PowerShell scripting knowledge.
9. Configuration of Thin Clients & Peripherals (Amulets, Printers, Scanners).
10. Update firmware versions of all types of hardware (UPS, Servers, SANs, Switches).
11. Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
12. Experience of Linux.
13. Exposure to Bulk User Provisioning and Data Migration.
14. Exposure to Configuration Management.
15. Exposure to Test and Assurance principles.
Mandatory Skills Required:
1. General Knowledge and experience of Microsoft & VMware Technologies.
2. Networking skills.
3. Experience of operating within a team environment.
4. Systems / Software Engineering background including all aspects of the solution lifecycle.
5. Understanding of Low-level Engineering Documentation & Test Scenarios.
6. Good communications skills, written and verbal.
7. Technical knowledge of MOD IT systems, security policies, and enforcement.
