Job Details Social Work Assistant positions across three social work teams, who operate Fife wide: Young People's Team - 2 positions available. Youth Intervention Service - 2 positions available The House Project - 1 position available. Young People's Team Social Work Assistants in this team will support young people who leaving care and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. The team provides throughcare, aftercare and continuing care support. Youth Intervention Service Social Work Assistants in this team will support young people who are in conflict with the law between the ages of 13-26, who require comprehensive assessment and tailored interventions. The House Project The Social Work Assistant in this team will support young people who have left care to engage in a programme of work that supports them to develop readiness for independent living and to access and sustain their own tenancy. This will include delivery of group work and one to one work following the ORCHIDS framework and a programme of modules provided by the National House Project. The Role Across all three teams, social work assistants will work creatively to support young people, adopting a range of approaches, including direct one to one work and group work. You will be involved in the assessment and management of risk and need, supporting young people to engage with a range of supports available in their communities and empowering young people to become active and responsible citizens. You will contribute to work which will support the implementation of the Promise in Fife. You will be responsible for supporting planning for young people and work collaboratively with a range of multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for young people and families. Within the Youth Intervention Service, the role will include providing a social work service to the Court, providing assessment and intervention in relation to Court based requests and Orders. You will also support work which will divert young people from prosecution or referral to the Children's Reporter. Within the young people's team, you will play a pathway co-ordinator role to young people leaving care or seeking asylum in the UK. All positions will involve lone working and require an ability to travel throughout Fife. The Person Experience of working with young people in conflict with the law, young people leaving care or young people seeking asylum. Experience of both child and adult protection processes. Knowledge of, and skills in, using IT and basic audio-visual technology and/or be enthusiastic about developing these. Organisational skills, ability to manage and prioritise workload, experience of making effective decisions. Ability to evidence continuous professional development Ability to be innovative and be creative. Team working skills (work together) Ability to travel throughout Fife. For Youth Intervention Service - Awareness of court and diversion processes. Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
