Our client, a biopharmaceutical company based near Cambridge, is looking for a Research Associate to join their growing team. The Research Associate will report to the Head of Biology and will interrogate the efficacy and safety of our client’s cell therapy in a range of in vitro assays and in vivo models. The Research Associate will be based in the lab and will be expected to work with a team of scientists. Candidates will need to have experience working in a fast-paced, laboratory environment.
Responsibilities will include:
* Culture of cell lines and primary cells
* Cell differentiation and characterisation by flow cytometry, western blot, and immunofluorescence
* Analysis of blood samples by flow cytometry
* Cytokine measurement such as ELISA
* Recording and analysis of results and compliance with data integrity procedures.
Candidates are required to have the following skills and experience:
* A relevant BSc, MSc or equivalent experience in the areas of cell culture (immune cells, iPSC, HSC, ESC)
* Experience with setting up and running flow cytometry assays (essential)
* Experience with developing assays for detection of cytokine or antibodies
* Experience with ELISA
* Proven lab-based experience with protocol design, data recording, processing, and storage
* Fluency in English - spoken and written
* Strong communication skills
* Project experience
* A professional and flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment
