Job summary We are at an exciting time within Urology at UHD and are looking to review and further develop the service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (Band7 ) or Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 6, progressing to Band 7), with a specialist interest in Stone Disease, to join our Urology Team. The successful candidate will be supported with training and education where needed, to fulfil the remit of the role, including the clinical skills and knowledge required to manage the service and to meet the needs of patients with Stone Disease. We are looking for individuals who are motivated and can work collaboratively with our team of consultants and highly experienced nurses, to deliver the best outcomes for patients accessing Urology care at UHD. This role requires an active current registration with relevant professional body Base Location: Bournemouth & Poole Interview Date: TBC Main duties of the job Be an autonomous practitioner, using specialist skills & knowledge, independently assess & manage a wide range of emergency & elective urological conditions. Work as part of a highly functioning reformatted urology nurse practitioner & enhanced care practitioner team to transform care for urology patients. To be a non-medical prescriber or be enthusiastic to become one. Have a leadership role in supporting the urology on-call team, strengthening relationships between the medical team & the ward teams. To consistently show full engagement with the training, academic & management aspects required to fulfil the role of an enhanced care practitioner. To meet regularly with appropriate urology consultants, review waiting lists & identify areas under pressure that are in need of prioritisation. To be open & enthusiastic towards the upcoming transformation process between the Poole and Bournemouth sites. Develop a sub-specialist interest & become a clinical lead for urological stone disease with a focus on: o Assessment, management & decision making for patients presenting with acute renal colic. o Actively contribute to & help to prioritise a elective stone procedure waiting list. o Lead with development & delivery of our plans for an on-site hot lithotripter to transform care for our patients with acute renal colic. o Oversee & contribute to the pre-assessment of patients awaiting stone surgery.
