hours per week. Weare seeking a highly motivated plumbing based professional individual, to work hours over 5-days, to assist a multi-skilled teamof tradesmen in carrying out the maintenance and working on buildings, buildingservices, plant and equipment within a range of healthcare buildings.
Workingacross our estate located across Plymouth and South West Devon, this role isprimarily to undertake routine planned and reactive maintenance to the plumbedsystems. You will be experienced in heating systems as well as hot and cold watersystems, drainage, sanitary systems etc and will be flexible, applying yourknowledge and experience to other healthcare related equipment as and when theneed arises.
You will also be required to workon your own after having gained experience of the sites.
Goodcommunication skills and a willingness to undertake training are required. Youmust be numerate and literate, with good written skills.
Youmust be able to work overtime at short notice, if required, and have theability to travel across Plymouth. Thisrole involves participating in an on call rota after successfully completing a 6month probation.
Main duties of the job
To undertake maintenance and installation workfor mechanical services and equipment. The post holder will be required to carry out routine maintenance and repair ofa range of electro-mechanical equipment within Livewell Southwest hospitals,health centres, clinics and administration buildings.
Includingheating systems, plumbing, building management systems, motors and pumps,engineering plant, equipment and processes.
Toserve as part of the maintenance team to deliver high quality care througheffective and efficient operation and maintenance of all healthcare buildingservices.
Tocomply with all relevant Health, Safety and Statutory legislation and seek toapply best working practice at all times.

Job responsibilities
Undertake tasks appropriate to thePlumbers role as delegated by line management or helpdesk.
The post holder will be expected toundertake routine maintenance andrepair of a range of electro-mechanical equipment along with installation and upgrade and refurbishment ofsystems and services associated with a variety of systems and equipmentincluding but not limited to:
1. Heating systems including pumpset/actuators.
2. Hot and cold-water services includingthermostatic mixing valves/strainers.
3. Macerators
4. Drainage systems
5. Sanitary ware
6. Cateringwater Boilers
7. Calorifiers
Advise the Line Manager of any problemsor hazards likely to be encountered including existing installations thatappear substandard or fail to meet current regulations as it becomesapparent. Isolate or make safe anyinstallation that presents a danger to staff, visitors or patients to ensurehighest levels of safety at all times.
Undertakeappropriate fault finding, investigation and testing as appropriate to thework.
Ascertain and obtain materials,equipment and components that in your judgment represent value for money forthe maintenance task. Keep accuraterecords of stock levels for stores.Undertake the work in a safe and workmanlike manner, within reasonabletimescales. Post holder will only undertake financial transactions on behalf of theorganisation with prior authorisation from an appointed manager or supervisor.
The position is likely to necessitatetraining either to keep up to date with new regulations, or to implement safesystems of work.
Liaise with contractors where they havebeen employed to work in conjunction with the work detailed to ensure efficientand effective operations.

8. Experienced in the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of plumbing and heating services.
