Salary: £22,816-£24,336 per annum (If existing Band 3, salary matched)

Main duties of the job
To assist the acute teams within T&O in the provision of an effective and efficient Therapy Service to support rehabilitation. This includes working alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
To carry out therapy programmes with patients in the ward setting and out-reach services.
To assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapist with administrative duties, including ordering equipment, record keeping plus data inputting.
To carry out rehabilitation programmes for patients with both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
To carry out housekeeping duties as required by the department.

Job responsibilities
To treat and provide quality care to patients as delegated by the responsible therapist within agreed protocols and treatment plans, as documented by the qualified staff.
Work unsupervised to implement appropriate treatment plans as designated by a senior therapist. Treatment should be delivered in the most appropriate location for the client, adjusting own clinical interventions based on the patients fluctuating needs.
To assist in the organisation and supervision of the work undertaken by Band 2 Therapy Assistants/Technical Instructors under instruction (as applicable).
To participate within training programmes for Occupational/ Physiotherapy staff, students, and other professionals, when applicable.
Carry out assessments and treatments of patients with varying degrees of disability on a daily basis, using moderate physical effort. This may involve moving and handling patients and equipment.
To deal sensitively with patients and relatives who have high levels of anxiety and occasional aggression caused by frustration, trauma, disability, pain, or impaired ability to understand or communicate and to enable patients to come to terms with chronic disability, on a frequent basis.

Person Specification
* Previous experience working in healthcare/Therapy Assistant
* Keyboard skills with ability
* Experience in NHS
* Previous experience working as Therapy Assistant within the acute setting.
Qualifications & Professional Training
* Maths/English to GCSE or Functional English/Maths level 2
* NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent practical experience/competencies
