The Early Intervention Service team have an opportunity for a newly qualified practitioner at Band 5 with a view to gaining training, experience, and support over a set period and with the opportunity to move into a band 6 post on successful completion.
Are you a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker looking to be part of a motivated, professional, and committed multi-disciplinary team? The Early Intervention Service, which works with individuals who have a range of psychosis-related problems, is looking for a Practitioner to join their team on a development basis.
As a practitioner, you will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care for a defined caseload of patients, aged 14-65 years, with regular supervision and guidance from a designated supervisor. You will be personally responsible and professionally accountable for a service user caseload within the community, focusing on service users with or suspected of having a First Episode Psychosis. Provide high-quality care and treatment in conjunction with other professionals through the Trust’s agreed multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment care programme.
The role is based at Hillcrest, Ensbury Park, and there are opportunities for flexible/hybrid working.

* To discharge professional responsibilities under the Mental Health Act (1983) and the revised subsequent act Mental Capacity Act (2005) and the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
* Be accountable and responsible for a defined caseload that reflects the priorities and diversities of the EIS population in Dorset and carry responsibility for the assessment of care needs, under the supervision of the EIS Team Leader.
* To take responsibility for maintaining professional registration and meeting the requirements for revalidation.
* To develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based programmes of care; set standards of care and liaise with other agencies for patients under the Care Programme Approach.
* Take on the role of care co-ordinator to service users subject to the Care Programme Approach, in line with Local and National Policy.
* Participate in the multi-disciplinary assessment of individuals with mental health problems living in the community, by providing a community mental health nursing perspective and expertise.
* Ensure that a risk assessment is completed for all service users.
* To be aware of the potential for vulnerability to abuse amongst the service users/families, and use the local policy to inform appropriate personnel in line with safeguarding vulnerable adults and children and DHC Policies.
