Destitute Animals Shelter have recently opened a Charity Shop at 210 Chorley Old Road, Bolton and are looking for an experienced Charity Shop Manager to Job Share. Applicants must have retail experience along with strong team and budgetary management skills and have the ability to lead from the front and drive sales through commercial awareness and inspirational customer service whilst making a difference to the dogs in our care.

Overall Purpose of the Role:
To support the General Manager to implement the 5 Year Strategic Plan set by the Trustees by maximising the profits made for the charitable work of DAS by managing the shop premises and administration and assisting in the recruiting and motivation of a team of volunteers.
You will be required to demonstrate excellent customer care and have proven retail experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the General Manager to ensure a high performing culture, driving employee engagement through effective communication, and by giving and receiving regular feedback.
2. To manage the DAS Shop, ensuring efficient and effective training, management and welfare of volunteers, premises and stock to provide a high quality retail offer in relation to agreed performance targets and to ensure a healthy surplus. To ensure all appropriate standards of security, including financial and health and safety are met.
3. To be responsible and accountable for maximising shop profit through achieving/exceeding budgeted sales targets. This includes securing Gift Aid from donations or purchases.
4. To ensure accurate completion of weekly reporting requirements.
5. To maintain high levels of shop presentation through merchandising and housekeeping.
6. To be responsible for pricing of items for sale and benchmarking against other charity shops.
7. To manage stock process to ensure correct density levels, stock processing and rotation systems so that stock moves quickly.
8. To promote seasonally appropriate merchandise and to regularly review and update the window display.
9. To proactively generate stock, using appropriate forms of advertising, including social media, promoting the work of DAS and the shop in the local area.
Flexible Working Options: Part time
Working Pattern Details: Alternate Monday and Tuesday then Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am to 4pm (average 15 hour week)
