The Role
As Customer Care Assistant, you will provide support to individuals contacting our organisation for advice, help with applications to join us and process donations.
Providing excellent customer service, you will act as the first point of contact, fielding phone calls, emails, letters and social media queries.
You will seek to inspire and motivate individuals, referring them for support or helping them to support our work through fundraising.
Additionally, you will:
- Ensure that all supporters are thanked, enquires responded to and applications processed
- Record, amend and update Gift Aid information
- Input all donations into the fundraising database
- Maintain and create personal and financial data, ensuring its security and confidentiality
- Co-ordinate admissions and reviews for all applicants for membership
- Liaise with ophthalmic secretaries to ensure all applicants meet Blind Veteran UK eligibility
To be considered as Customer Care Assistant, you will need:
- Experience in handling customer queries and complaints
- Experience with managing administrative systems ensuring that service needs are met effectively
- Working knowledge of GDPR, PCI compliance, Direct Debit guarantee, Fundraising standards/codes, Voluntary Sector regulations and HMRC regulations
- A meticulous approach to transaction recording and audit trail
- To be skilled in using Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge of the Armed Forces and visual impairment would be beneficial to your application. Knowledge of fundraising and customer care techniques would also be advantageous.
