Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 07:30 – 17:00 – Monday – Friday

Coastal’s success to date has predominantly been down to what we have created in our BLU and DURATIQUE brands. Developing great new products is critical to our future growth plans.
Alongside our BLU, DURATIQUE and EDWIN brands of hardware, we also bring online complete and semi-complex door and window systems.
Keeping our product ahead of the competition and in line with market trends, this project management role is primarily responsible for the coordination of all tasks and milestones of new product development and improvement of current products.
The Role:
The role is responsible for project managing the flow of these developments using our New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Request (NPR) systems. This will involve collaboration with several departments including Engineering, Procurement, Marketing, Business Development, and the MD (visionary role).
We treat all customer feedback as high value because it drives quality up and proves we listen to customers. Feedback can be in the form of a genuine issue or in the form of a suggestion of how our product can be fitted easier, faster, or simply built better. If the suggestion makes commercial sense – we do it!
The key to executing this role effectively is to manage projects in the correct order, working with department heads, to meet required deadlines and with passion to create the best product in its class.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project management and development of brand-new products and ensuring successful launches.
* Managing the improvement of existing products.
* Coordinating and completing the product quality complaints.
* Taking QC reports produced and collaborating with suppliers to ensure change requests have been implemented, including any issues or suggestions which arise from the Manufacturing Team.
* Project managing New Product Development & improving existing products.
* R&D claim creation and annual submission.
* Liaise with the Marketing, Business Development, and Engineering departments regarding New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Requests (NPR).
* Keeping product information in NetSuite up to date (online and internal ERP).
* Keeping up to date with relevant British Standards.
Candidate Specification:
* Experience / understanding of engineering, within an engineering / manufacturing environment.
* Experienced in Innovation, with an innovative and analytical mindset.
* Project Management skills – a project management qualification would be an advantage.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* A good problem solver.
* Programming skills such as CAD.
* An eye for detail.
* High level of self-motivation.
