About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Folding Equipment Setter and Shift Team Leader. Reporting to the Finishing Manager and Finishing Supervisor, your primary objective will be to set and maintain all folding equipment. You will also assist the Shift Supervisor in managing the shift team, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and quality standards are met.
How You Will Impact Us:
* Maximise Shift Output: Set and run folding machines to ensure maximum productivity.
* Quality Assurance: Work to agreed quality levels and achieve department quality targets.
* Leadership: Take the lead as a machine champion and assist in supervising operators.
* Safety: Implement and demonstrate best practices for health and safety in the workplace.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvements in manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set and run all folding machines and formats of leaflets.
* Demonstrate effective people and shift management.
* Troubleshoot machine and finishing-related issues.
* Deputise for the Finishing Supervisor during absences.
* Conduct HSE Gemba walks and maintain a safe working environment.
* Communicate production requirements and responsibilities to team members.
* Support and champion personal development within the team.
* Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current H&S legislation.
* Manage shift discipline and control breaks.
* Attend daily morning meetings and report production issues.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications Required:
* Proven experience in setting and running folding machines.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot and provide practical advice on machine-related issues.
* Knowledge of SFDC, Job Bag/MBR, and PSA.
* Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production targets.
