Role Overview:
As the Product Developer you will oversee the entire development process of womenswear collections, from concept to final product. This role requires a deep understanding of garment construction, luxury materials, and the ability to manage the relationship between design, production, and suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the design team to develop collections that align with the brand’s vision.
* Source and manage fabrics, trims, and other materials, ensuring premium quality and sustainability standards.
* Work with manufacturers and suppliers in the Far East, Bangladesh and India to ensure accurate prototype samples, fitting, and production timelines.
* Coordinate technical specifications and oversee garment fittings, ensuring products meet design standards, quality expectations, and cost targets.
* Conduct costings for new styles, balancing quality and profitability.
* Oversee the production timeline, ensuring all deadlines are met for both samples and final production.
* Manage communication between internal teams (design, production, etc.) and external partners (suppliers, manufacturers).
* Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and innovations in fabric and techniques.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development within luxury womenswear or high-end fashion.
* Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes.
* Excellent project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
* Proficient in tech packs, production schedules, and material sourcing.
* Passion for luxury fashion with a keen eye for detail and an understanding of brand identity.
* Experience working with factories in the Far East, Bangladesh and India.
