Nurse Hysteroscopist
A year fixed term full-time position for a Nurse Hysteroscopist has become available in the Hysteroscopy Team based St Alban's City Hospital. The post holder will be part of a Rapid Access Team providing quick appointments, testing and treatment to patients.
They will support the managers and lead nurses in the development of hysteroscopy services, ensuring high standards of practice and they are within statutory requirements.
This post if for 37.5hrs per week and the shift pattern will be any times between Monday to Friday 07:30 to 18:00hrs, depending on the needs of the service.
It is a fixed term contract for 12 months, with the view to becoming permanent if nurse-led clinics with Hysteroscopy are successful.
Main duties of the job
The applicant must be a certified independent Nurse Hysteroscopist having completed the Diagnostic Hysteroscopy and Therapeutic Management postgraduate (level 7) Diploma with the British Society of Gynaelogical Endoscopy (BSGE).
Having a sound specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience the successful applicant will manage their own clinics, be able to assess the care needs of patients referring for further investigations or consultation as appropriate.
There is an expectation to undertake audit and research both independently and in collaboration with others to improve hysteroscopy services.
With the Clinical Lead for hysteroscopy regularly critically analyse the management of cases, reviewing the rationale for decision making when managing women with complex pathologies.

Be responsible for own professional and clinical development, to maintain and advance professional knowledge and skills, complying with BSGE, RCOG guidelines, protocols and standards of care and practice within Hysteroscopy.
When required along with other Hysteroscopists critically analyse the management of hysteroscopic cases, peer review rationale for decision making & problem-solving skills used when managing women with complex pathologies.
