About the Opportunity
Jacobs is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Design Manager to join a multidisciplinary project delivery team working on construction projects on regulated sites near Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in high-level projects with some of Jacobs’ most lucrative and exciting clients and to be at the forefront of offering solutions that contribute to Jacobs’ global strategy of an integrated, connected, and sustainable world.
Successful candidates will work closely with the team’s Project Managers and Planners to develop design strategies from conception to completion, ensuring they meet budget and quality requirements, and are delivered on time. Candidates should have experience in:
1. Developing and implementing design strategies, standards, and processes;
2. Ensuring structural drawings and designs are produced on time and are easy to decipher;
3. Motivating and encouraging large internal and external design teams;
4. Working in a large multidisciplinary team;
5. Regularly reviewing designs to identify improvement opportunities;
6. Attending, hosting, and coordinating meetings;
7. Client-facing collaboration.
What You'll Need
* Excellent leadership and organization skills;
* Architectural degree or equivalent NVQ;
* Experience working in a regulated, process-driven environment;
* Experience coordinating the ‘Contractors Design Portion’ from multiple sub-contracts and resolving conflicts;
* Experience in commercial buildings;
* RIBA chartership or similar qualification;
* Ability to obtain minimum SC clearance;
* UK driving license and right to work in the UK.
