We are looking for a HR Business Partner to join our People Team based in Coventry with hybrid working opportunities.
The HR Business Partner will provide support to the MTC Business and align to a specific business area/stakeholder group, helping to drive it through bringing people, change, and strategy together. Ensuring the people agenda has a commercial focus, and ensuring contribution provided is strategic with the ability to deliver hands-on solutions.
Partnering across the leadership team within the business area to gain a clear understanding of what drives the businesses, the market, and how this impacts the delivery of our people agenda.
Working closely with key stakeholders to coach and challenge and play a pivotal role in enhancing leadership capability through succession plans as well as delivering our people plans with the support of Directors and Management teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a HR Business Partner you will:
1. Be a key and active member of the business leadership team, contributing to and influencing the development of the business agenda and strategy, providing challenge and consulting support.
2. Support the achievement of business aims, shaping and executing the HR delivery plan and business people plan for their specific area.
3. Act as liaison between leadership teams and the HR function; proactively leading, supporting, and adding value in the delivery of key objectives through a formalised effective and visible people agenda.
4. Strengthen existing skills and behaviours to support Directors and Managers to raise their capability to lead and manage change.
5. Effectively challenge and coach Managers in defining, developing, and delivering people plans which support the achievement of the business objectives and deliver cultural change.
6. Support management team in the implementation and evaluation of employee engagement survey and action planning to continuously measure and improve employee engagement and raise operational performance.
7. Partner senior managers in identifying high potential individuals, developing and providing suitable opportunities for development and progression.
8. Identify, develop, and enhance Leadership capacity using effective tools and processes to increase capability and form succession plans for the future in line with business plans.
9. Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on opportunities, risks, and possible people and business impacts of decisions.
10. Implement and effectively deliver all HR and people-related initiatives; identifying solutions to risks or negativity that may hinder the delivery of the business objectives including our Diversity, Inclusion, and Wellbeing agenda.
11. Work with the Head of HR Business Partners to influence the business and the wider HR team plans to ensure they are aligned to deliver key initiatives for the business.
12. Work with the HR Centres of Expertise to ensure excellent delivery of: training and development interventions; effective recruitment and selection processes; reward and recognition mechanisms; frontline HR support through HR Shared Services. Capture stakeholder feedback and make recommendations for improvement.
13. Bring in best practice from other organisations and facilitate the sharing of good practice across the organisation.
14. Provide expertise on a wide range of HR issues and shape organisational effectiveness, ensuring that the contribution delivers value to the business.
15. Actively develop talent, capability, performance, engagement, and overall organisational effectiveness, including strategic workforce planning to ensure the organisation is future-proofed.
16. Lead change programmes and ensure collaboration between functions to deliver timely responses and project deadlines.
17. Work consultatively with Head of Reward on ER issues to ensure minimisation of risk and cost in these areas – taking commercial decisions when needed.
18. Work with people data, analyse trends and issues, managing the data to actively work on solutions to improve business performance KPIs.
19. Use nationally provided HR tools, processes, and techniques to address local issues.
20. Contribute to and drive professional standards in the delivery of HR interventions to the business as a role model for the HR function.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who is/has:
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
1. Commercially aware.
2. Up to date knowledge and practical experience with all aspects of employment law and UK best practice.
3. Influential.
4. Team Player.
5. Trusted Advisor.
6. Degree calibre and/or professional HR qualification such as CIPD.
7. Experience using HR ERP systems.
8. Computer literate particularly with MS Office.
9. Experienced in providing advice to managers and employees at all levels.
10. Good numeracy skills: confident working with numbers and data.
11. GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above.
12. Strong presentation skills.
