About the role:
As their HR Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Human Resources in the management of our HR function. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with their staff and enhance employee communication channels while fostering a positive workplace culture. You will be responsible for administering payroll, providing vital HR support, and championing initiatives that promote employee engagement and well-being within our charity. In this role, you will have a minimum of 2 days in our head office in Snetterton and a maximum of 3 days at home.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Provide administrative support regarding job descriptions, staff appraisals, and employment contracts.
* Manage recruitment advertising, candidate correspondence, and interview arrangements.
* Conduct necessary checks to ensure prospective staff have the right to work in the UK.
* Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding and induction plans.
* Schedule occupational health appointments to ensure compliance and safety.
* Offer expert HR support to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and legal compliance.
* Collaborate closely with Line Managers to resolve staff issues promptly.
* Assist with staff disciplinary, capability, and grievance matters as needed.
* Support the implementation of HR initiatives aimed at enhancing staff engagement.
* Ensure GDPR compliance and manage employee data retention policies effectively.
* Oversee payroll processing, including calculating wages and responding to payroll inquiries.
* Maintain accurate employee information on the HR database while tracking staff absence and holiday entitlements.
* Coordinate training courses and research personal development opportunities.
* Engage in project work and other tasks as required by the Head of HR.
About you:
You will have proven experience as an HR Administrator or HR Officer, a solid understanding of payroll processes and employment legislation, and strong organisational and communication skills with an approachable demeanour. The ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and maintain confidentiality is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. A CIPD Foundation Certificate and Data Protection Certificate are advantageous.
