The council is committed to meeting the needs of our rough sleeper and former rough sleeper population through housing led projects.
We are now looking for a female Homeless Support Officer who can work with our team to meet the needs of female rough sleepers. The officer should have a passion for supporting people to move on with their lives whilst empowering people to make choices for themselves.
Job Purpose:
1. To develop positive relationships and pathways with organisations to ensure early reporting, intervention and support is available for households.
2. To work alongside the customer to create a support/pathway plan into sustainable housing that includes addressing barriers to rehousing.
3. To deliver a pre-tenancy programme for homeless and potentially homeless households living within emergency accommodation that includes health and wellbeing, pursuing meaningful activities, education and training, and preparing them for employment.
Minimum Requirements:
1. The post holder should have a good basic education including a minimum of five GCSEs including Maths and English at A - C level (or equivalent).
2. The post holder should have some experience in working with customers, preferably in an advice or support role.
This is a fixed term contract, part-time 25 hours a week, for one year with an annual salary of £30,238-32,769 (pro-rata).
You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post.
Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
