Job overview
A post for a Practitioner Psychologist has opened in the Community Health Psychology Department in Guildford and Waverley. This is a part-time role offering 2.5 days per week.
We are looking for a HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist to join a Consultant and a Principal Psychologist in providing input into community physical health services and two community mental health teams. The service offers consultations and partnership work with mental and physical healthcare teams and formulation based work with patients who live with complex physical health issues.
The service aims to continually improve the holistic care pathways for those living with complex physical health issues. You are joining the service at a time when we are working on developing our consultation model and on evaluating the outcomes of our formulation-based partnership working.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job:
1. Working together with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Principal Counselling Psychologist to develop the service in partnership with the communities and teams we serve.
2. Promoting psychological principles and holistic care delivered by the whole team through consultation, joint working, and training.
3. Direct formulation based work and intervention to support complex physical health presentations.
4. Leading and supporting audit, service evaluation and research projects in the service.
5. Liaison with the local clinical psychology doctorate courses to support trainees and to provide a placement.
6. Develop and improve pathways and partnerships within SABP and our neighbouring partners, including third sector agencies.
As well as being a member of the Community Health Psychology service you will be part of a growing network of psychologists working across the other acute and community trusts that Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) support. You will have the opportunity to meet regularly with and be a part of our wider Clinical Health (Physical Health) Psychology network, who provide input across a range of services.
You will receive regular peer support and clinical supervision. The post is professionally managed through the Clinical Health Psychology Department in SABP.
