About the Opportunity To support the delivery of the SRP Project, we are seeking a Senior CE&I Design Engineer to join the team in Hinton House, Birchwood, Warrington. Responsibilities of this position are to lead a team of engineers and designers to deliver the CE&I design aspects of mechanical handling and process services systems (instrumentation) through manufacture, works test, installation, and commissioning support. The CE&I plant systems this role primarily covers are; - Package transfer and storage outside of Glovebox Lines - Building mechanical handling systems, cranes, lifts etc - Building process services systems, LP steam, chilled water, compressed air etc. - Specification and selection of process instrumentation across the SRP facility. Responsibilities: - Provide design support to procurement, manufacture, and installation teams for the above systems. - Management of CE&I design configuration baseline for the above CE&I systems in response to developing project requirements and design information from the supply chain. - Checking and reviewing CE&I design deliverables to programme deadlines and to appropriate relevant standards, codes, and regulations. - Working with the supply chain, supporting design aspects of contracts in ensuring suppliers meet client Engineering Standards, responding to Technical Queries, supporting production of test specification and attendance at Works Acceptance Testing at supplier facilities. - To integrate and coordinate the above CE&I systems into the wider SRP Plant, via Building Interface Modelling (BIM), working with the other engineering and non-technical disciplines. - Support the project Commissioning team activities. - Responsibility for ensuring that throughout remaining phases of the project lifecycle, the CE&I design intent is aligned to safety case requirements (nuclear and conventional) and ensuring all functional requirements are met, ensuring Validation and Verification is adequately managed. - Mentor and support the development of engineers, designers, graduates, and apprentices. Here's What You'll Need: - Has excellent communication skills and is able to interface with all levels of the engineering organisation. - Has a BEng/MEng degree or HND/HNC in a relevant field, or demonstrable equivalent experience. - Has achieved Incorporated professional registration or be working towards professional registration - Moderate experience in a similar role, previous Nuclear experience is highly desirable At interview, shall be able to demonstrate the following competencies: - Evidence of their design competence through previous work and projects. - Conversant with existing CAE tools, e.g. Autodesk AutoCAD. - Independently capable of managing his/her area of responsibility. - Ensuring Validation & Verification is completed throughout project delivery. This role can be either fully office based or a blend of office and home working. There is a requirement to routinely interface with installation contractors, plant operators and maintainers at Sellafield site. Travel will therefore be necessary from time to time.
