The Acute Medical Unit and Emergency Department are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated nurses with significant experience in practice, interested in all aspects of Acute and Emergency Care. We endeavour to deliver high quality care to a wide variety of medical patients.
Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment that offers you exposure to all medical emergencies and specialities?
As part of the Acute and Emergency Medicine Directorate, we work closely with the Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit.
If you enjoy a challenge where no two days are the same and want to work with a team who are committed to providing the best possible patient care at the front door, then this is the place for you. We are offering rotational posts between AMU (including SDEC) and ED.
Our department benefits from a structured development programme to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to deliver high quality care in a supportive environment. Our education plan includes simulation training, A to E assessment study days to respond to deteriorating patients and many more opportunities.
We also offer a team-based rostering system, ensuring more personalised shift choice and work-life balance.
We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to join our nursing team at Sheffield Teaching Hospital.
Responsibilities:
1. To deliver a high standard of clinical nursing care to a diverse range of patients within the clinical environment as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
2. To act as a supervisor to junior members of staff and students.
3. To provide excellent patient-centred care working in collaboration with families and carers.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
For those who are currently employed by the Trust as a Registered Nurse, you should instead apply through the Staff Nurse Transfer process via your line manager.
We are only able to consider experienced Staff Nurses on this advert. If you are a Newly Qualified applicant and due to qualify by December 25, please apply instead on our specific Newly Qualified Staff Nurse advert, reference 190-9000-NQN which closes on 13 April 2025.
