Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

Main duties of the job
You will be a qualified psychotherapist with current registration with the ACP professional body. You will hold a caseload of young people with complex mental health needs and will take responsibility for providing assessments and therapeutic treatment programmes.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, management qualification or equivalent and experience
* Relevant qualification or significant experience in relevant clinical children’s field
* Maintenance of ACP registration
Knowledge and skills
* Understanding of child development and family functioning
* Knowledge of the range of young people’s mental health problems and mental health services
* Working knowledge of health, social services, education and the voluntary sector, together with the relevant legislation regarding both children and mental health
* Knowledge of key policy and guidance relating to children and young people
Experience
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
