COMPANY NAME:HERON BROS. JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title:Estimating Assistant Reporting To:Estimating Manager Purpose:Assisting Estimating Team with compiling cost estimates. Contract Period:Temporary to cover Maternity Leave, anticipating 12 months Key Responsibilities: To assess material, labour, and plant requirements To prepare correspondence to various parties for purposes of obtaining estimates To liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain package estimates To review and assess tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and correct To resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information To plan and organise work efficiently to meet project deadlines To work in accordance with company Integrated Management System standards To prepare relevant reports To update information as required To maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training To always represent and implement an excellent Public Relations and professional image of HBL to our clients, design teams, general public, and within HBL To undertake other tasks as and when required. PERSON SPECIFICATION JOB TITLE: Estimating Assistant Criteria Essential: Qualification/Attainments: Good educational attainment including minimum GCSE/equivalent Mathematics & English Relevant Experience: At least 1 year of employment gained in accounts or a construction role Skills and Competencies: Excellent IT skills and working experience on a range of IT packages Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines Desirable: Qualification/Attainments: Minimum HND qualification in engineering, quantity surveying, building surveying, or other construction-related discipline Skills and Competencies: Experience gained in estimating software
