We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Risk Technician to implement the Head of Safety’s & Fire Risk Assessment Managers action plan and support the Fire Risk Assessor in dealing with fire risk actions that come from official fire risk assessments.

Freebridge Community Housing is the largest provider of housing in West Norfolk, set up in 2006 to receive the transfer of homes from the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Today, we own and manage around 7,000 homes across West Norfolk, making a difference to thousands of customers within communities across an area of almost 550 square miles. We have an annual turnover of £30m and employ well over 200 people, including our own Property Services team. Over the last 14 years, there have been numerous achievements, not least delivering our tenants’ promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living.
Please note this position is a 12 month FTC
Requirements
* Provide assistance to the Head of Safety, Fire Risk Assessment Manager and Fire Risk Assessor with administration tasks
* Ensure prompt reporting of non-compliance where these are obviously seen or reported while carrying out reviews of current FRA’s
* Develop and maintain fire evacuation plans for FCH properties that fall under the regulatory reform ‘fire safety’ order 2005
* Maintain fire safety knowledge, keeping up to date with changes in legislation, compliance requirements and fire issue trends and best practice
* Plan and produce fire safety advice and guidance for tenants and colleagues
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of using ICT systems to undertake works and record outcomes
* Customer focused with the ability to ensure service levels are maintained in line with required standards
* Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce effective reports
* Results focused with strong analytical skills
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Strong administration experience
* Experienced in carrying out fire risk surveys and identifying non-compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and best practice is desirable
