An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Strategy, Planning and Performance Team within the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
The Trust is continuing in its commitment to transform services and develop new ways of working through delivery of the Trust’s strategy ‘Delivering Excellence’ and Integrated Medium-Term Plan (IMTP).
To support delivery of this strategy, the Trust has created a Transformation Support Office (TSO) within the Strategy, Planning and Performance Directorate to drive forward delivery of the key projects and programmes required to make our vision a reality.
The Project Support Manager is a new role within the team that will be responsible for supporting the delivery and coordination of complex projects across the organisation. The Project Support Manager will work closely with the Project Managers to ensure a consistent organisational approach to project management and will play a key role in supporting the TSO with key project-relevant administrative tasks.
This is a permanent role and is ideally suited to someone that is ambitious, adaptable, organised, and possesses strong interpersonal skills. Previous project support and/or experience of providing administrative support will be essential, along with a commitment to personal and team development.
The Project Support Manager will autonomously manage elements of a specific project as delegated.
The post holder will also ensure that standard project management methodologies are applied to successfully deliver projects.
Responsibilities include:
1. Formulating, implementing, and monitoring progress of the projects to ensure that programmes and project work streams are planned, documented, and managed effectively.
2. Preparing documentation and tracking project plans and benefits.
3. Communicating complex business-sensitive information and issues related to the project, including briefings and reports.
4. Monitoring the progress of a range of work streams, quantifying gaps in resources, identifying risks to delivery, and determining options for recommendation to secure timely action and delivery.
5. Planning and delivering specific elements of the project as delegated, linking with workstreams and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
6. Developing policies and service improvements for a delegated area of work supporting the project/programme.
7. Maintaining and ordering stock/supplies for allocated projects/programmes.
8. Providing training on project/business administration systems to staff at all levels across the organisation.
9. Setting up and maintaining appropriate systems for effective recording and updating of project information.
10. Providing advice on research activities in new areas taking account of evidence from elsewhere.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
All applicants are invited to apply in Welsh; any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English.
Applicants are advised to apply early as we reserve the right to close a vacancy prior to the closing date if a high number of applications have been received.
The Trust recognises the need for its workforce to represent the diversity of the population it serves across Wales and seeks to create an environment where diversity is celebrated and inclusivity matters.
