Poole North Primary Care Network, a network of 4 GP practices working to provide additional resources and services for our 52,000 patients, is seeking a newly qualified GP (newly qualified being someone who is under two years post registration in their careers) to join our teams for an initial six-month contract with a view to extending this to a permanent role.
Announced in Sept 2024, the Government is committed to bringing newly qualified GPs into Primary Care Networks. Our PCN, always at the forefront of new developments, is seeking a new colleague to join us, expanding our network workforce and giving additional access and support to our patients.
Across the network, we have dedicated teams of Advance Nurse Practitioners, MSK Practitioners, Social Prescribers, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Mental Health Practitioner colleagues. Our ethos is to embed colleagues in our practices where you will be working alongside clinicians and practice teams in our friendly and supportive environment.
Main duties of the job
As a Network GP, you will be the first point of contact for our acute patients who need a GP's input to ensure their physical wellbeing. The role encompasses everything a GP would expect to undertake, from referrals, ordering of investigations, examinations, and liaising with colleagues in community and secondary care, but without the added burden of a patient list and with a negotiated number of patients per session.
Although a fixed-term contract length, we expect NHS England to confirm that funding for this role continues from April 2025, and we would be happy to convert this fixed-term role to a permanent post for the right candidate as soon as we can.
About us
Poole North Primary Care Network works together to ensure patients obtain the care they need when they need it. Through utilizing our clinical system and bringing in additional colleagues to support the day-to-day needs of our patients, we have built a truly multi-disciplinary team across our four practices.
The PCN is headed by a committed and experienced senior team, and we ensure a nurturing and friendly environment for all our colleagues. Our recent PCN staff survey showed we are a great place to work, and we are proud to have been able to bring additional services and support not only to our patients but to our clinicians.
