CNC Lathe Operator
All Square Recruitment are working with a dynamic and well-established manufacturing company in Chelmsford, Essex, specializing in precision engineering. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join our team on a permanent basis.
As a CNC Lathe Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating both fixed and sliding head CNC lathes to produce precision parts. The ideal candidate will have experience with Fanuc-controlled single spindle machines, with the ability to program and set up machines independently. Experience with twin-spindle lathes is highly preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities Include:
* Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, including fixed and sliding head machines, ensuring all specifications are met.
* Interpret technical drawings and work orders to ensure accuracy and quality in production.
* Perform regular quality checks on components using precision measuring tools.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with machine operation, tooling, or programming.
* Maintain and operate machines safely, ensuring compliance with company procedures and health and safety standards.
* Work efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
* Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the production environment.
Requirements:
* Strong experience setting and programming CNC lathes, ideally with Fanuc controls.
* Experience with single spindle lathes is essential; twin spindle experience is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of fixed and sliding head lathes is advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work with tight tolerances.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
* A good level of practical experience is essential
