Job Description
Mane are looking for a QS to join their client, a leading M&E Contractor.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work under the guidance of the Commercial Manager and be responsible for:
* Overseeing the commercial aspects of projects
* Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment (AFP).
* Managing project variations and general change management.
* Monitoring and analyzing monthly cost reports to produce month-end reports.
* Attending meetings to progress or finalize project accounts.
* Identifying, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
* Gaining familiarity with standard contract forms, including NEC3 and JCT.
* Negotiating subcontract terms and conditions with clients and contractors.
* Drafting subcontracts, valuing subcontractor work, and certifying interim and final payments.
* Enhancing cash flow through effective control, measurement, valuation, invoicing, and cash collection.
* Receiving training and support to aid in your professional development.
* Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (Degree, HNC, or NVQ preferred).
* 2 years of experience preferred, but candidates with relevant experience or qualifications will also be considered.
* Understanding of electrical systems is beneficial but not required.
* Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office, with a focus on Excel.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
* Effective time management skills.
* Methodical approach and proactive learning ability.
