We have an exciting opportunity for a Clerical Officer to join our Haematology Oncology Department here at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. Excellent communication skills, a flexible approach, ability to meet tight deadlines and interact with a wide variety of patients and staff within the Trust is vital to this position. Working together and being part of a dedicated team is essential as ensuring the patient experience is paramount.
Main Duties of the Job
This post is demanding, challenging, and extremely rewarding and includes working on a rota system rotating between different areas to ensure both a variety of daily tasks for staff and to ensure staff are trained and able to work in all areas of our department.
Job Responsibilities
* Deliver a first-class service within our Haematology Oncology department, demonstrating administration support for Haematology Oncology Day Unit (HODU) including the scheduling team and HODU nursing team with all administration tasks.
* Receive up to 200 patients through the day unit in one day, managing your own workload with the demands in the busy HODU department.
* Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team, ensuring the patient experience is paramount.
* Work between the hours of 8am to 5pm to ensure daily tasks for the HODU staff are undertaken in a timely manner and to ensure smooth running of the department.
* This post is 18 hours per week, and you will be required to work the occasional Saturday and Bank Holidays.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE / 'O' Level Standard or equivalent including English and Mathematics.
Experience
* Experience of working in a healthcare office environment.

* Knowledge of Office Procedures.
* Ability to achieve high levels of accuracy ensuring deadlines are met.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Able to deal/liaise with staff at all levels.
* Able to prioritise and plan workload.
* Confidentiality and discretion.
* Able to work independently and recognise the importance of teamwork.
* Knowledge of ARIA Chemotherapy although training will be provided.
* Access to PAS, EPRO, Minestrone.
