Quality Assurance (QA) Leader
Port Training Services (PTS) are looking to recruit a QA Leader to our team here in Blyth. PTS, the training division of the Port of Blyth, are a specialist training provider delivering fully accredited, industry recognised qualifications for companies and individuals serving the Port & Marine, Warehousing & Logistics, Heavy Industry, Subsea and Offshore Energy sectors.
The Role:
To lead on all quality assurance activities of the PTS training and educational portfolio across all PTS target markets (Ports, Logistics, Warehousing and Offshore Renewables & Subsea).
Drive quality improvement as measured by KPIs.
Ensure PTS QA is highly effective to deliver outstanding teaching, learning, assessment, and tutoring.
Ensure all learners experience a first-class service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and lead on the internal quality assurance process (standardisation, monitoring, administration) to ensure incremental, achievable, and sustainable improvements.
Champion and promote continuous improvement within the QA function including the development and maintenance of QA documentation (procedures, manuals, handbooks).
Liaise with the Port of Blyth Compliance Manager to ensure overall compliance with the Port of Blyth integrated management system.
Lead on PTS observation of teaching, learning and assessment (OTLA) to produce accurate profiles, ensure clear continuous professional development of the PTS team and improve the learner experience.
Train the PTS delivery team with our processes and procedures.
Audit our delivery across our UK projects.
Work effectively with external organisations (accrediting bodies, Ofsted).
Work with the Head of Training and instructors/assessors to ensure all administration associated with the delivery of vocational/commercial training courses is kept up to date, maintained and archived to the highest level.
Work to suggest continuous improvement of administration processes.
Support the wider PTS administration team.
Lead on Self-Assessment reports (SAR) and quality improvement plans (QIP).
Ensure a robust process to gain customer feedback and respond to their concerns.
Desired Skills & Personal Characteristics:

Proven track record in internal quality assurance.
Teaching qualification with recent teaching experience.
Hold the required qualifications for internal quality assurance.
Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good time management skills.
Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience of OneFile or similar IT system would be desirable.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work situations.
Ability to manage and take responsibility for own workload.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
Ability to pay attention to detail and be accurate.
Ability to work to deadlines.
