Contract Type: 12 month fixed term contract
The Role:
Manages the development of Rathbones’ Group performance, career and talent architecture, and leadership and learning proposition, in the service of our combined business and future strategy.
Outcomes of the Role:
1. Leads a high-performing team of talent, performance and learning specialists, delivering an ambitious and transformational programme of work linked to our new business strategy.
2. Key role in shaping our Group-wide approaches to performance, development, talent and learning, with a focus on coherence, scalability and increased business ownership.
3. Looks to modernise and continually enhance our leadership development and core skills offering, introducing trusted external providers and contacts, and bringing “the outside in.”
4. Through overseeing the design & delivery of dedicated programmes, and other methods to drive capability growth across the business, develops a pipeline of emerging talent to match the future needs of the business – scope includes graduates, apprentices and internships, and a focus on coordinated talent development action plans following the annual talent review.
5. Oversees the development of an integrated career pathways approach across the Group, providing clarity around the options and implications for those interested in driving their own personal growth.
6. Facilitates decisions on work prioritisation and the degree of area/role customisation of solutions to ensure the most effective use of organisational resources.
7. Ensures effective and coordinated ways of working with inter-dependent roles across the People function (e.g. Knowledge & Learning team, PBPs), as well as with the business.
8. Drives the increased use of digital technologies – to enhance the learning experience for colleagues and reflect the growth in digital learning channels.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. Experienced in the design and implementation organisation-wide approaches to talent, performance and learning (TPL) in professional services or regulated environments.
2. Clear evidence of the successful application of project and change management techniques.
3. Engaging, empowering, flexible leadership style.
4. Experience leading experienced professionals in a HR centres of expertise context.
5. Refined relationship management and influencing skills; ability to build and sustain excellent stakeholder relationships across the business, despite having to manage demand and opinion.
6. Knowledge of emerging trends in the fields of performance, talent, leadership and learning, with responsibility for driving and evolving internal best practice.
7. Personal drive and ambition to achieve a world class TPL service offering; resilient under pressure.
8. Leading performance, talent, leadership and learning functions across multiple locations.
9. Level 4+ qualifications in occupational psychology, org behaviour or leadership an advantage.
10. Experience of financial/professional services or other regulated sector desirable.
